NOW HIRING: Business Intelligence Consultant (Construction Focus)

Responsible for conceptualizing, designing, implementing and supporting standard and custom logistics reports and dashboards for the company’s internal and external customers utilizing data warehouse tools and visual analytics tools and BI tools. Manage the design and construction of high quality analytics, queries and procedures for supporting data integrity and securing high quality data across the business network. This role will also maintain a solid understanding of reporting tools, data warehousing structures, query languages, economics and operational performance measures. Analyze and interpret data from multiple data sources to identify actionable insights that improve cost-effectiveness. Work with the business to understand needs, captures requirements, create report prototypes, and recommend solutions that meet the needs of the business. Identify areas of opportunity through rigorous analysis of key performance metrics/ indicators for each unit of operations. Perform data analysis by mining information from various data sources and construction of that data into meaningful, actionable information. Develop streamlined reporting and automated scorecards from various systems including the ICDW (data warehouse). Collect, clean and transform data into valuable reports and provide insight. Work with internal and external customers to customize and design dashboards and visual analytics. Determine which dimensions, measures, and details should be used when creating reports along with how to structure the information. Conduct reports and DBs demonstrations and discussions with internal customers and upper management. Explore, analyze, and communicate trends in data. Support the development and implementation of data governance program.

Create well defined functional specifications. Maintain close synchronization of testing, development and construction environment. Develop internal data expertise with the ability to provide solutions to complex business questions. Collaborate with actuarial, finance, MIS, product and leadership teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of reports. Fulfill ad-hoc reporting requests as necessary. Demonstrate initiative through recommending and implementing process improvements that further the long-term data and analytics strategy of the company. Plan, execute, and effectively communicate the results of strategic database analysis in support of business initiatives. Recommend alterations/enhancements to improve database optimization and availability. Assist business users with ad-hoc report construction using BI tools including but not limited to Business Objects and Tableau toolsets. Up to 10% domestic and international travel to unanticipated locations.

Special Requirements

5 years’ experience in a managerial position. 5 years in Business analysis and modeling. Working knowledge of construction management systems, implementation methodologies, systems integration, and communication technologies. Ability to interact cross-functionally to gather report requirements and assist with testing and articulate results and make internal recommendations. Strong analytical skills used for investigating/ explaining data discrepancies in reports and attention to detail. All experience may be gained concurrently.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or the foreign academic equivalent plus 10 years of experience in the job offered or related.
